Job Description & Qualifications: Acton Academy West is a PreK–12 private school located in West Lake Hills that provides a truly unique and revolutionary “disruptive” educational model and is affiliated with the Acton Academy Network. The Montessori method and principles permeate throughout the core of our philosophy and practice. We emphasize Socratic guidance, as opposed to traditional teaching, in mixed-aged classrooms. About the position—We are seeking a full-time Socratic Montessori or Early Childhood Education Guide (ages 4–6). We are looking for an individual who is passionate about guiding children on their independent journey of life-long learning and who possesses a depth, love, and commitment to Maria Montessori's methodology and materials. Someone who is independent and comfortable running their own studio and creating a magical environment and curriculum plan, with a low guide-to-learner ratio. Montessori certification is a plus (we also offer training), preferably AMI or AMS.

Requirements—A qualified candidate for this position will have the following:

1+ years Montessori is a plus.
1+ years working with 4 to 6 year olds.
Experience running a Montessori or Early Childhood classroom.

Responsibilities—Guides are expected to:

Prepare the learning environment
Prepare fun and engaging projects for the learners
Lead discussions
Inspire our heroes to explore
Be curious
Monitor student progress on our self-paced Montessori curriculum
